Hypnotherapy is a complementary type of therapy whereby the conscious mind, through hypnosis, is relaxed and lets the subconscious mind be more accessible. Almost everyone can be taught how to enter a hypnotic state, as it is a natural condition; it is the feeling of losing the sense of time and space like when driving or when watching a film. In hypnosis, you are still aware of yourself and your surroundings and you can choose to terminate the hypnotic state at any point.
Hypnosis is safe and natural. You can be hypnotised only if you want to and by doing so you allow your conscious mind (the analytical one) to switch off and the subconscious mind (the creative one) to be in charge. By letting the subconscious mind become more dominant, you allow change to happen, such as breaking a habit or overcoming fears. In effect, you let your creative mind, your subconscious, reprogram any deep-seated beliefs that are demonstrated by your conscious mind through your actions.
