What is Reiki?

Reiki is an oriental method of working with energy. It is a complementary and holistic therapy that promotes healing on all levels: physical, mental and spiritual. Its origins are from Japan since the 1800s when Reiki was used for self-healing by Tibetan Buddhist monks. The system was developed by Usui Mikao, who was a monk and a popular healer. It was later in the 1970s when Reiki was first taught in the West by his students and it evolved into a treatment technique.

When you treat with Reiki, you allow energy to flow through your body and you channel the energy through your hands to treat another person. When using Reiki both the therapist and the client benefit from the universal energy. The client will feel peace of mind and a sense of inner calm, wellbeing and joy.
